What is the Susan Rating Scale you ask? Well our resident rulebook expert Susan the Mustache wanted to create a cool scale and rating system for the rulebooks we review. So Susan and I worked together to create and present our new and improved rating scale! If you want to see the old scale (which isn't too different) feel free to check it out.
Susan, being a mustache, doesn't have thumbs so all of the ratings are given in curls up! So without further ado, here is the Susan Rating Scale!

Two curls up is given to rulebooks that are simply excellent! These rulebooks are well organized, have a good layout, and are strong in the graphic depart. The writing is clear, concise, professional, and covers everything in good depth. In other words these rulebooks are the cream of the crop and make reading the rules an enjoyable experience.
These rulebooks are nice! They tend to read well and look good but something is just not right. Maybe there were typos, the layout was funky, or some of the rules were poorly written. Still these rulebooks teach the game particularly well and still do their job well.
These rulebooks are the definition of average. They are usually rather bland and really standard with only the basics of quality. Still you can learn the rules from them nicely.
These rulebooks may be really fuzzy on actually teaching the rules, and definitely missed out on some important aspects of what makes a good rulebook. There are quite a few problems that really need to be solved to make this worth reading, a disappointment.
Look at what they did to Susan!!! These rulebooks are so bad they make a mustache sick. They are filled with errors and mistakes and may not even be able to teach the game. These are the worst of the worst and their writers should be ashamed of them.
Susan Approved!
This is our ultimate award! These rulebooks are absolute perfection. Not a single error, simply gorgeous, and teach the rules so well you can get to playing fast. Every rulebook should strive to be as good as those Susan Approved as they are simply the best!
