Today we're looking at the Kickstarter game Rock, Paper, Scissors, WAR! This game combined too classic childhood favorite games, RPS and War and adds a curious twist. You can learn more about the game by watching the video above or clicking the picture on the side. But how do the rules look? Check out the PnP copy of their game here (which includes the rules) and let's give them a look! | |
Organization and Layout: I'll give a little leeway here. At the beginning they mention the game will be going to Kickstarter and gives you a good way to keep in contact with them to find out when that will happen as well as asks for any feedback. I'm guessing that will be removed for the final version of the rules, but for the game in PnP form that's really a cool idea!
Other then that everything is a rather simple top down rulebook where I can start at the beggining and learn to play while reading the rules, something I always like to see!
Clarity: Everything was clear and straightforward.
Graphics: Not a picture in sight, minus the cards to PnP, something that won't be in the final rulebook for obvious reasons. The rulebook does rely on you knowing how RPS and War work, but the instructions are so straight forward i think they can get away with no graphics here.
Depth: Mostly it covers what happens if there is a tie and what happens when two hero cards meet, but it covers them well! It even covers how to print and cut out the game which is really nice.
Writing: It has the professional feel you look for when reading rulebooks. I could find a typo or grammar mistake anywhere and I even found a well placed joke!
