Halloween has come and gone but still we have all of these Zombies around! I Hate Zombies is the first game being produced by BoardGameGeek the best website for all things board games. If you're reading this blog and have never gone there please make sure to do so! For more information about the game itself, be sure to watch the video above or click the picture to the side. Their kickstarter campaign really called out to us: "The simple rules all fit on 4 small pages, so you can likely get the gist of it in a couple minutes!" Let the rulebook experts be the judge of that! To follow along you can find the rulebook here. Why not try the game out while you are at it as well by downloading the PnP of the game here. Let's go! | |
Organization and Layout: The layout was simple and attractive and the rules were presented in a proper order. Everything was done well on this one.
Clarity: Everything was clear from the rules, nothing confused us!
Graphics: There were only a few pictures to explain the more complex parts of the game in setting up who are zombies and who are not but they were perfectly executed and explain it very well. Also all of the green and blue sections to outline specific parts of the rules made the presentation even more crisp and drew my attention to them. Plus the art in general was just fun and entertaining.
Depth: Everything seems to be covered very well, the cards are so good at explaining how they work there is no real need to explain each interaction in the rules. The rulebook covered everything we needed to know.
Writing: Normally I'm very big on how rulebooks should be written with a very professional flair to present the rules. However the rules had phenomenal humor and its more casual presentation taught the rules in a much more memorable way that I can say in this special case it works. I couldn't spot any typos or major grammar errors as well, the writing was simply superb.

Susan's Explanation: This is a seriously funny rulebook! But at the same time it explains the rules incredibly well, a very rare quality to have. The pictures to explain the game work very well, and overall this is just a stunning rulebook, so good I'll say that it's...
