It's not Halloween, but today we're going to look at the rulebook for Ghosts Love Candy. You can learn more about the game by watching the video above or clicking the picture on the side. But how does the rulebook look? Hopefully not too scary! Susan and I are ready to sit down and give it a look! If you'd like to follow along you can download the rulebook with the files for the free PnP version here. Let's get started! | |
Organization and Layout: Everything is organized so you can read the rulebook from start to finish while learning the game, always something we're looking for! The layout is fine for the print and play version, and I could see it easily being converted into a nice booklet.
Clarity: everything was crystal clear, nothing confusing or convoluted in the instructions to be seen.
Graphics: Pictures a plenty! There was a fully shown turn being played out which is excellent to see, and pictures for everything you would need to know. A job well done in the graphics department!
Depth: Everything seems to be covered. We didn't seem to encounter anything while we played that wasn't able to be explained by the cards themselves.
Writing: The rulebook referred to all of the kids as girls though some seem to be clearly boys, a bit of an oversight, but nothing that makes the game unplayable. Other then this the rules are written well, have that professional feel, and have no other grammatical errors or typos.

But what does Susan have to say about this rulebook? On the Susan Rating Scale this one gets:
Susan's Explanation: There is only one error of any kind and it's not very noticeable, but it's the only thing keeping this from Susan Approved status. There are loads of great pictures, the layout is nice, and the rulebook definitely lets you learn the game fast and get right to playing.
