You and your friends are on a relaxing camping trip. But as you hammer in the last stake, you hear rustling. Bears are romping through the campsite! In this dice pairing game you attempt to shoot bears, run away, or maybe even get lucky and sleep in your tent. If this sounds like fun you can learn more about the game here.
But here at Rulebook Review the rulebook is king. Are these rules good or should we feed them to the bears? Sit down with a pdf version of the rules and join us to find out!
Organization and Layout: Something you can't see in pdf form is that the rulebook comes folded up and small. Each little section is on it's own small page and you have to fold out the rulebook all the way to read the front and then flip it over to read the back. It's not too bad but the box definitely had room for a normal book so making you flip and fold wasn't really necessary. Despite this the rulebook keeps each chunk on each foldout relevant to that section which makes the folding not as bad.
Clarity: The game isn't very complex and the rules reflect this nicely. There's nothing to make the game harder to learn then it should be, a must do for all rulebooks.
Graphics: There are plenty of pictures and they all are very helpful. Whenever a specific die is mentioned there is always a picture, the setup picture is helpful, there's a big circle and slash through invalid pairs of dice, and much more. This rulebook understand that a picture is worth a thousand words and uses them perfectly.
Depth: The game covers everything, what happens when you have an invalid pair, calling Bears too early, and every other special case. I found nothing lacking when it came to the rules.
Writing: Everything had that could professional feel throughout and I couldn't find a typo or grammar error. There was no extra fluff anywhere as well, everything was clear and concise.

While he's no Kodiak Colby, Susan has wrangled a bear or two in his day! Plus he knows a lot about rulebooks. On the Susan Rating Scale this game gets:
Susan's Explanation: This is a great rulebook to look at if you want to know how to use pictures well. The game is simple and not too difficult to learn and the rulebook makes learning easy, not holding it back. The only thing keeping this from being Susan Approved is the fact that the rulebook didn't have to be an annoying foldout but was.
